Argh!
Today was not a stellar day for photography. Or, for much else as far as that goes! This day would have been well-spent lounging about with a good book! It was dreary and very, very wet!
I bought a small bag of wild birdseed a couple of weeks ago, thinking perhaps the birds at my feeder would like a little change from the black oil sunflower seeds I normally put out. Today, however, I noticed that all the sunflower seeds were picked out....all that remained were lots of the tiny seeds. Hmmm.....
I went down to the basement and opened the huge bag of sunflower seeds. I got a big cupful and placed it on the feeder. Within minutes, I was visited by Chickadees, Titmice, and even a Downy Woodpecker. Aha! I will never pay a small king's ransom for mixed seed again!
I do need to get out my birdie cookbook and make up a batch of suet for them. The recipe they love has yellow cornmeal, peanut butter and other goodies in it.
The little Titmouse above was not too sure about me and my camera hanging out the window. The wind has been blowing all the pretty leaves onto the ground and the birds seem to be easily spooked today. I was just glad to capture this little fellow as he assessed me!
