Over but not out.

My week with the parentals is over...

Just before I left for home this morning, the river was so busy - oil tanker, a booze crooze(?), fishing vessel, small warship, ferries, a yacht and this.

I can't see the name on it but if it's the Alba Venturer, this is the one that Susan spent two episodes on, notably one that ended in Tobermory for three days during a force 9 marathon.

I thank the guys who give up so many hundreds of dedicated time to take youngsters like my daughter on these wonderful adventures. What fabulous opportunities they give to the youth. It really takes them out of their comfort zone and tests their patience and moods. No home comforts and people they don't know.

As I passed the dock opposite Morrisons, the sailors already had the sails down and were cleaning it all up - hats off to you all!

Am home now but miss my river view and all its action.

Susan arrives around 8.30pm for the weekend. We are off to an Edinburgh family reunion tomorrow and then perhaps a wee 3D Lion king (secretly hoping for that!) But before that - the rugby!!
