Little things...

This afternoon, our wonderful neighbour came over in his tractor to cut all our hedges for us. Since we moved here over 8 years ago, this family have been the MOST incredible neighbours.

In return for us just letting them use a few fields that we don't need for anything anyway, they look after the land and boundaries, cut our hedges, give us wood for the log fire, let us borrow the tractor powered log splitter (and don't even charge us for the fuel), mend leaks in pipes and generally are there for us in SO many ways.

They are the best neighbours in the world.

Sadly, due to circumstances changing, they are selling up and leaving and today they broke the news that the farm is sold and in about 6 months they are leaving. I am pleased they have managed to sell it and are able to move on as they wish to, but being selfish, I am totally gutted that we are losing them as neighbours.

Not only will we now have to work out how to manage our land, cut our own hedges and get hold of our own wood.......but more importantly we will be losing three of the most wonderful neighbours and friends you could ever wish for.

While I was talking to Jeremy (farmer junior), feeling very sad and being quite proud of myself for holding back the tears (you may have noticed I am a bit emotional! ;-), this little robin sat on the tractor and for all the world looked like he was listening in!

It reminded me of all the good things in life and that I really shouldn't let things like this get me down. Life changes. Sometimes it is through choice, sometimes not. Sometimes it is a good change, other times not so good. But it is life. And you just have to get on with it and make the most of it!

So this photo is more than a bit poor, but this little Robin managed to somehow cheer me up and therefore deserved to be blipped! :) Sometimes...it's the little things.... x

Have a good weekend everyone. Oh and...... COME ON WALES!!!!!! XxX
