this is Chunk - the therapet. he lives between the unit and the puffin pool, just beyond these doors. he is fed by the staff on the unit, but is also fed but the staff at the puffin pool who call him by a different name (I've forgotten it). also just beyond these doors are a colony of small wild rabbits.
sometime into the afternoon, I was aware of a bit of a commotion coming from the sitting room. it soon became obvious as I wandered down the corridor, that Chunk was in the throes of disgracing himself. he was sitting under one of the tables in the dining room, facing the corner with a small live rabbit in his mouth. one of the female patients was becoming rather upset. I called G (columnist's father) who came to the rescue, chasing first the cat, then the released rabbit, around the sitting room.
Chunk spent the remainder of the afternoon watching for rabbits from the unit door.
