Squamish Harbour & The Chief
This is the pretty little harbour in the town where we now live, Squamish. It's about 30 minutes south of Whistler and 45 mins north of Vancouver. You really can't ask for a better location. Squamish has the sea on one side and the mountains on the other side. My husband commutes to Vancouver, and at the weekend we can zoom up to Whistler for snowboarding.
Squamish is also one of the best places to kite surf and rock climb in the world. With the mountain and sea combination, it's like a wind tunnel - great for kite surfing. The big hulk of rock behind the harbour is The Chief, the second largest mound of granite in the world and a rock climbers' dream. Maybe next summer, when I won't have a baby in my belly, I'll get back on the sports wagon.
