In-between the seconds

Today is the start of a very busy period for Artipousse, the charity I work for. We are in the final throws of a big project in Bourges, we have started back in the schools, we are preparing the school holidays and we are in the process of writing all the new projects for next year school year 2013/2014. On top of all of that we have to write and apply for new grants.

A lot of the work we do is in hospitals and with special needs kids/adults in daycare centres. They have little money, so grants are the only way they can possibly envisage working with artists or art therapists. In the current climate grants are getting harder to come by, a lot of red tape and hours of work, often for nothing.

This is our mate Oliver, We have known him for over 10 years. He is 10 years younger than us, well me, since I'm with a toy boy (he'll love me for that.) You know how some times you have friends or neighbors and it is not an effort, just easy. That is how it is with Oliv'. He came for food tonight with his girlfriend : cured dried ham, homemade soup, cheese and crumble. Lovely.
