Rue Sherbrooke
Sherbrooke street in Montreal is the street where all the wealthy families of Montreal had their mansions over a century ago. Some of these mansions can still be seen but because of poor planning, some were destroyed. On the street the old and the new mix hapharzadly. Here we see an older house and the modern 450 Sherbrooke East building. They seem to lean one into the other and I like the shadow the old throws on the new. The 450 Sherbrooke East is a recognizable landmark of sorts in Montreal, its round outline looms over the Berry "open-roof" tunnel. (sorry for the blurry picture, no other one today)
Weird 1: Conversation heard behind me on the bus coming back home. "He is one of my cousin. You know, what we call "cousin" in Hong Kong. He said he has "the thing" (this said with lowered voice). We should do it on a Monday, people would be panicked if we did it on a Friday. He found the information on the internet. I could not look it up as my telephone is not intelligent..." Now, if one has to be so criptic having the conversation in public six inches behind my head, maybe one should save it for home?
Weird 2: I was called a Squaw tonight by a panhandler. I think it was the first time I was called that.
