That Will Do!

Spade

Having completed our errands we decided to make use of the clear Autumn day with a trip out East. It was lunchtime when we approached the Gosford Bothy Cafe so stopped for a huge bowl of delicious soup. About to leave the carpark we discovered that, with the kind permission of the Wemyss and March Estates, and on condition that we kept a sensible distance from houses and estate workers and, had we a dog, that it should be kept on a lead, we could enjoy a walk in the grounds of Gosford House.

The path we took passed through woods, past the pyramid of the mausoleum, which dates pre-1796 and gave us our first view of the magnificent house itself.

Just inside the huge walled garden, sadly no longer in use, this long spade was leaning against a wall, and I rather liked the shadow. (Can anyone tell me what such a spade is for?). There were many other blip subjects close by and many more paths to follow so I rather think we'll have to go again.

And maybe again.
