Oystercatcher

Oystercatchers at rest and in flight.

Went birdwatching at Cuckmere Haven today with a stop off for lunch at the tea shop. Tried a Stilton and Bacon scone, lovely but not very big, so there was room for a slice of carrot cake mmm.

Blackbird, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Meadow Pipit, Moorhen, Cormorant, Little Egret, Magpie, Black Headed Gull, Black -backed Gull, Heron, Dunnock, Sparrows, ChiffChaff, Greenfinch, Kestrel, Starlings, Redpolls, Mallards, Swallows, Little Grebe, Crow, Common Gull, Jackdaw, Rook, Canada Geese, Wheatear, Mute Swans, Kingfisher & Oystercatchers!

Just before heading home we sat on a bench to watch for any more birds when I spotted this and took a closer look in the binoculars when the Kingfisher flew by which was great because the binocs were already in position!
