(unnecessary, uninteresting tech note: took this with my lens i think of as a "kit lens plus" - standard zoom, fixed f/4, so slower cheaper and lighter than a proish 2.8 lens, but it has great contrast, is very sharp even wide open, and just looks good. i'm a really big fan of this lens and think every system should have one, i know of only two that do, though - pentax (16-45/4) and canon 36x24 (i.e. 5d,1ds - 24-105/4). actually, there might be one for 4/3, i didn't check. :))

edit: this picture was taken 365 days after i got the lens i'm going on about - i just noticed that may 24, 2007 was my "ooh new lens" post.

edit2: no 4/3 either. sony doesn't have one, but they do have this ridiculously incorrect copy on their lenses page:

*1 DT lenses are designed to be compatible with APS-C sensors and are not compatible with conventional 35 mm SLR cameras. Focal lengths are roughly 1.5 times longer than those stated.
