Day 1

Builders eventually arrived this morning. They got lost. We saw them going back and forth along the road. This always happens here. It is a long, long road with no street numbers, only house names and it always confuses delivery men.

They are, at the moment, ripping out the remains of the kitchen units with a view to starting to construct the new utility room. Once this is done the washing machine and freezer can be transferred and we will have a little worktop for food prep. There has also been talk of starting to dig the foundations for the new part..

Hope they stop soon as I have a hungry teenager looking for food.
