Heron

I wasn't going to upload any photos from before I started the Daily Photo thing, but I took this one just the day before I started.

We moved to this house on October 31st 2005, and inherited two ponds. We have since filled one of these ponds in, but the remaining one does contain a few fish (despite our best efforts to get rid of them.) Mum and Dad have often talked about a heron coming to visit. This was the first time I'd seen it, was quite impressed I managed to capture the moment on camera (albeit through my bedroom window).

Astonishing creature, and then it started flying!
