Today was the Library Camp unconference. A huge bunch of Librarans and Shambrarians talking about our favourite subject from 9 - 5! and no...I don't mean cake.

I was really nervous. REALLY nervous about meeting people I know only through Twitter. People I like such a lot and I felt under enormous pressure to be confident, natural, charming and normal! Was so stressed as I approached the building I nearly leaned forward to tell the taxi driver to turn around and take me back.

But, I didn't and and I jumped feet first out of my comfort zone and without exception everyone I met was lovelier in real life than I could have hoped for.

The day was really good, great insights and clever library talk. I didn't go to every 'conversation' and I even uttered that "I'm a bit libraried out" by 4pm and I never thought I would say that!

Went out to eat with some lovely ladies - (you know who you are) and a fantastic gent with whom I share a surname :)

...but was missing my girls and really not in a socialising frame of mind - worrying about stuff going on at home. To be honest, I think the long day and how stressful I found it took it's toll a bit so went back to Stucks, had a big chat on the phone with my girls and my mum and that eased my mind a bit.

So thank you - everyone I met, everyone I already tweet and new people who I follow now. Thank you to the organisers too!

I realise that this blip makes me sound like some antisocial crazy lady who doesn't get out much.

I don't think this is the case but Libcamp was very important to me for lots of reasons. Library and lifeline. I didn't want to fire up Twitter and find a lot of unfollows from people I am very fond of!

I'm sorry I didn't get to speak to everyone, sorry for ditching early but not sorry that I didn't tell the taxi driver to deliver me straight home to the comfort zone.
