Out and playing with this camera tonight. Hand-held with little light is an opportunity to find out how it performs at high ISO values, and likewise for the lens at (or near) maximum aperture.
After looking at the results, I won't be using the camera above ISO1600 unless desperate, and even when there, will need to avoid underexposure. Much as expected, as I'm familiar with a Nikon camera that uses the same sensor.
The lens seems to do well wide open at f/2.5, but I need to try it on scenes with more light, to judge its performance better. I noted that stopping down the tinniest amount, to f/2.8, is enough to generate "star-bursts" from the likes of streetlights - which can be fun! Some evening shots around Inverness are likely, as the nights draw in more...
