Going nowhere fast

This is Kawana beach, as previously featured in my last Blip, an embarrassing week ago. I'm not sure how they managed to beach this fishing boat but it was going nowhere at all.

I snapped about 100 pics altogether this morning, including this gem. There was also a behemoth of a tugboat waiting offshore, connected to the other end of the yellow rope to the left of the photo, and a excavator on the beach ready to dig the boat out.

If you look in the background on the left too there are a few surfers catching some decent waves.

I waited around for about an hour while the rope was secured, the tide came in, the excavator did its thing and then, go time. The tugboat hit full throttle, the rope tightened, a crowd of well over 100 all looked on in excitement, then the rope snapped off the beached boat taking a considerable chunk of 'boat' with it.

I packed up and went home after this, guess I will see what happened from one of the three local news teams covering the story.
