Mostly quite mundane

Startled

A working from home day. The field across from my back door has been ploughed in the past couple of days. I notice a mass of gulls feasting on there (presumably on worms & other exposed ground-dwelling insects?) and then I think ... 'blip!'.

So I sneak up to the stile and quietly lean over. It's a brilliant scene ... all these pure white feathers with black detailing against the freshly tilled rich brown soil.

I bring my camera up and the movement presumably startles the nearest few. They're off! Up into the sky and I'm inwardly cursing my clumsiness. I get just the one snap and give it up as a bad job.

They still look beautiful though ...
