security
Today I walked to my regular money changer in East Jerusalem and I came by Damascus gate - one of the gates to the old city - and saw this scene.
This evening Yom Kippur started, a day that religious jewish people fast and the entire country closes, not one car in the street and everything tightly shut. The army set up a provisional checkpoint at the entry of the Old City in East Jerusalem. You can see the traditionally dressed woman looking at the people lining up with their identification papers to be able to enter the old city. In the upper right hand side there is something that looks like a small zeppelin but is actually a camera of the security forces hovering over East Jerusalem.
Although I see checkpoints and army nearly every day, it was the first time I saw it inside Jerusalem. A strange thing.
