Waxeye in a Kowhai Tree

It's amazing how hard it can be to spot a green and tan waxeye in a yellow kowhai tree. I could hear him but it took me ages to find him. The tuis showed up again this afternoon too, but it's been a while since I blipped a waxeye.

There was a great sense of relief at 3 o'clock today - school is over for a fortnight. Holidays! Yay! I'ts been a fairly hard term so the break is well appreciated. I'm off to Christchurch tomorrow for a few days - hopefully a cuddle with my lovely grandson can be slotted in while I'm there.
