Moa!

This magnificent piece of sculpture depicting a moa was crafted by Dave back in his teaching training days. He is very proud of it. It has sat on our windowsill since the day we moved into this house back in January because that's where someone put it on the day and it hasn't moved since.

It has shown remarkable survival instincts given recent seismic events which potentially could have cooked its goose, made it as dead as a dodo or even knocked it off the face of the earth - extinction being the fate of its real life counterparts.

Or ...are they?
back in 1993 I recall a West Coast character reporting a sighting of a moa. You might like to look at this short video reporting as it has some lovely West Coast scenery. It caused some international interest and excitement as well as boosting the number of guests at his hotel - the only one in the area. Entrepreneur.
