Help

Bethannie and I were away rock hunting again today on the spare piece of land across from our house (well that is until the builder has his way with it). We came across these plants, they look like little mini fir trees but they only stand about 6-8" tall. There are absolutely hundreds of them and they look really cool. If anyone knows what they are could they let me know.
