Yay!
I am feeling much better today! Hurrah, hurrah!
Husband and Son went to take Daughter to school today, and I remained at home. I figured one more day of rest would surely throw this bug over!
This afternoon, I watched as two butterflies (some sort of Frittilaries) made their way around the house several times. I grabbed the little Canon camera and found one sitting on the pool ladder....it was so awesome...it's antennae looking all spectacular in the bright sunshine. As soon as it saw me, off it went! Beyond feeling defeated, I went into the house and grabbed the big guns...the Nikon with its zoom lens!
I sat outside, waiting for the butterflies to reappear, but it was not to be. The sun doesn't last long, here in the woods, and the butterflies obviously do not like the chill when the sun goes away!
Looking around, it felt like I have not been outside for ages. The leaves are turning colors quite nicely and I have missed much of it. Actually, they have a ways to go, but being inside for a few days makes one appreciate the outdoors all that much more!
I went over to the nearly endless Fleabane growing behind the house and watched as dozens of Bumblebees worked away. Oh no....not another Bumblebee photo.
Then I spotted a pollen dust-covered Honeybee working in the wild Asters. Aha! As I was shooting away, I got many nice photos of its bee-hind, but who wants to see "Bee Bum" anyway? So, my self-challenge was to get the bee's EYES!
I liked this particular photo best, as you can see exactly what I meant by "pollen dust-covered"!
