The Edge of the Wold

An unsettled day

An exciting weather day. Stormy with huge black, billowing clouds, cloud breaks with brilliant light, fleeting rainbows, deep gloom under dense grey cloud blankets, heavy showers. I was distracted when driving to work into chasing rainbows and photographing wind-blown gulls. But in the end I settled for the lone tree on a drumlin, facing into the dark cloud covered sun. This hasn't been desaturated, it's the colour that came from the underexposed image. The tree has been stripped of its leaves by the strong winds we have had this last few days.

But the most exciting thing happened when I got to work. Wifie rang to let me know that our bank had been in touch. There had been fraudulent activity on our account. 6 transactions had gone through amounting to over £750 before they spotted the unusual activity. They stopped four more transactions, each for over £500. The money will be refunded, but it's a sobering, unsettling experience. The debit card has not been used for an online purchase in 6 months plus, and then only a few times when I was changing credit cards. Oddly, one of the bigger transactions (over £500) was a for a carhire firm in Dublin - surely traceable to someone, if only when they return the car.
