Seeing red....
Time for a blip rant I'm afraid...
This is my Canon G9, loved by so many blippers, and loved by me until recently. It was only bought in January yet by April there was large pieces of debris visible behind the front lens. Canon agreed to service and clean the camera under warranty due to their "unexpected presence". It's a common problem according to net forums. At this stage they were not visible in pictures but it seemed a good idea to get rid of the dust. What a mistake...
The camera came back with the dust gone from behind the glass but now large spots on actual pictures, visible at small apertures. In addition there were crude dents to the front plastic lens unit and new scratches to the glass LCD screen. Back the camera went with a letter. The camera was returned yesterday with the damaged items replaced and the dust spots gone, but now it cannot focus on items in the distance when the lens is at it's widest angle - pictures are blurry and noisy. And no letter with it, no apology saying sorry, nothing.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH!!!!!
So I've rang the camera shop it came from and it'll be going back to them tomorrow. They've done nothing wrong but as the retailer they can now get involved. I've been without it for a month. I want a new one - this one is jinxed, plus it's been apart twice already and will have to be dismantled for a third time.
Rant over. You can all carry on now. Grrrrrrr.
There, that's better.
