"And also with ... your spirit"
Just a small quote that cropped up once or twice today. I reckon it'll take a while for me to completely adjust to this new catholic mass.
Today I was invited to go up to Worth Abbey, not far from Crawley, on a trip with our school chaplain (see her blip here) and a few other sixth formers. We also travelled with some neighbouring primary schools. Basically it was for a bit service with all the catholic schools around the diocese of Arundel and Brighton (never knew there were so many!) And it was to celebrate the end of the 'year of catholic education' announced by the Pope a year ago.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from today, when we left none of us, including our chaplain, were entirely sure what was going to happen. But basically it was a big service, (not a mass) with all the schools. Some did some reflectiony type dances and stuff. Also there was a procession of school banners at the start, and then each school presented a piece of artwork at the end. Although we hadn't known about this bit, so we didn't have any artwork.
But it all went okay, and it was a lovely day and better than I might have expected. After the service we all had lunch outside, then drove back to school ready for hometime. However I had orchestra and swing band after school, so I stayed anyways. It was fairly normal, although in Swing Band I had a little flute related accident resulting in a bent key. However I, being the wizard I am, managed to take the keys off and fix it back into shape and is now in working order again!
I didn't actually take too many photos today, which surprised me somewhat. I do have a few group photos, but seeing as these have the primary school children in and I don't have any form of consent at all I thought it better not to. These two smiley ladies however are friends of mine, so it's alright to put a photo of them up. Besides they asked me to take it, and they wouldn't mind!
