Before the Deluge

I am afraid I don't know what it is.

My plant identifier is away from home for a couple of days, me and Tess are home alone. To be fair Roo is the gardener, I do the idiot jobs like mowing the lawn and filling the bird feeders.

But, it it a scrumptious flower, whatever it is.

The weather has been closing in all day, at lunchtime the sky was blue and the clouds were all shapes and sizes, only the wind took the edge off a lovely day. By teatime Tess and I walked under steely skies with a premonition of downpour. At least the rain will slick down the dirt and stop the choking dust-devils of the last couple of days.

I fear the rain will be a trouble on my trip to Leeds tomorrow for a meeting. I'd better get some shut-eye.
