Sex, drugs and vampires

Summer's ended; it's cold, dark and miserable. But series 3 of True Blood is on TV. Yay! I love popular genre culture and TB, despite its updated setting, presents vampires in the traditional Bram Stoker way - as sexual degenerates who threaten the purity of humans. None of this covert Christianity Twilight nonsense. Yes, it's complete hokum (not sure about the introduction of werewolves this series) and it seems as if the violence is being meted out solely to women this time round which is worrying but Eric Northman is more than welcome to pop round after sunset and do bad things to me.
