An Old Airman's Life

Fall Foliage

Today should be a very busy day so I blipped on my way to work.

When I went out with my dogs this morning, it was cool but not windy. I could have stayed outside all day. Beemer, my big dog, loves to be outside so he can bark at dogs, squirrels or most any other animate and inanimate object that moves. Our little guy Flame would be quite content just to stay inside and have me clean up any mess he would leave. So one is pulling away from the condo while the other is yanking me back.

The commute was uneventful. Snoozed a little on one train. Stood and read on the second. Standing is the only sure way I won't nod off. As I was waiting for the bus, I noticed a patch of brown plants and figured I found something to blip. My little Kodak does not do a good job with DoF but figured I would try it just the same. This is the best of the lot. Not horrible.

We are going to lunch with the owner of the company today. He had a stroke in June 2010. He has never been able to return to work. I haven't seen him in many months. The last time we met, he still had not regained much control of his left side nor could he speak well. The most disturbing for us is that he lost his short term memory. I am not holding out a lot of hope for a cure and his return to work.
