Humble

A very common scene in Sicilian towns - groups of old men just sitting around chatting to one another. There were rarely women in sight, I wondered if they were at home cooking lunch or dinner ;)

If we approached, clearly foreigners, tall and blonde, sticking out like sore thumbs, these old men would jump off their seats to offer them to us! I was amazed, so polite. They often sat at cafes and town squares but never seemed to drink or eat anything...amazing!
