Kowhai

In full glorious colour this time... sort of. Most seasons I get an image or three of the Kowhai in flower, it is that time of year. And for those that like colourful flowers the Kowhai is much brighter and yellow than this, but the desaturated moody feel contrated with teh cheerful nature of our national flower was just what I was looking for. When I was making the shot it was all about the background , trying to get the bokeh just right, this was the only one I did at 4,8 the rest were wider and it just didn't work.
