Balance
Wandering in the garden between storms. The red in the background is the last of the tomatoes-picked a heavy boxful to simmer a year's worth of marinara sauce tomorrow when the biggest rain is due. Anything left doesn't have a real good future out there in the wet.
I spent a long time watching a spider repair its web after last night's wind and rain. The spokes were in place, and the spider went around and around filling in the blanks, using every single one of its legs to do something important--stretching and tacking and gluing and balancing. It moved too fast for me to focus the camera, so I contented myself with merely marveling at the craftsmanship, artistry and speed of the whole operation.
