Euro trip

I am a fan of going to new places and am especially pleased if a new country ticked off the list can be combined with anything competitive or challenging. I was on my annual trip to somewhere beginning with B with uni mates (Belgium) and we took a little road trip to France, Luxembourg, Germany and Holland on the same day. 5 in a day. We started poring over maps to see how easy it would be to beat:

- a cluster of Balkan states.....poorer roads and slower border crossings?
- a string of Caribbean islands.....plane logistics and sugar comas from too much Lilt

If anyone has done more in a day, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Some may doubt the tenuousness of our 'visits' to these countries. In France we shimmied down the side of a motorway to cross the border; our only proof being a picture of 'Welcome to Belgium' taken from the French side. In Holland Adam urinated behind some bins at a petrol station; that surely counts. In Germany we didn't leave the car but drove around a diversion for about an hour, so it trumped Holland and France in terms of time spent in country.

Luxembourg was the hidden gem - an apricot juice in a town square as the sun set.
