Arthur's Place
Drove out along the East Wall Tuesday, to the very end, almost behind the big Man United-coloured goalposts of the Pigeon House Chimneys.
Sand drifts across the road, pools along the edges like the the sea's dust.
A forsaken, abandoned feeling to the place. Yet, just around the corner I found two young men fishing and a few strollers on the walkway; also a couple eating their lunch in the carpark, while a big container ship bulked smoothly past.
On the way back I passed a couple of traveller caravans for the second time. I took a chance and asked a man in a doorway if he'd mind me taking some photos. He turned out to be very gracious and friendly (despite his formidable appearance), as was his wife Margaret and their little girl.

NB
Changed the earlier blip (ARTHUR 3) on Slant's recommendation (his territory after all). As it happens the one above was the original blip, so I was changing it back.
