Names.
This is an old semi derelict building near me. It was built over a 100 years ago as the Hulme Playhouse which was right next to the famous Hippodrome. Then it was converted to a cinema, then it turned into a studio for the BBC in the 50's.
Then a bingo hall in the 60's then the Nia centre in the 80's. I remember seeing Gil Scott Heron play here and a fantastic band called Yargo.
Everyone knows it by a different name. I still call it the Nia centre.
Now people simply refer to it as "Bingo Jesus"
Its pretty much empty apart from a dodgy african christian group who use the basement as a church.
