Balloon Fiesta

We're back home after our 10-day trip to New Mexico. This isn't the best shot - it was just a quick shot of the mass ascent early in the morning, taken from our hotel room window in Albuquerque before we left for the airport. The Balloon Fiesta started this weekend and runs through next weekend - over 550 balloons from around the world. However this was all we saw of it, other than TV coverage, as we only arrived back in Albuquerque late last night. I should love to go back and see the event properly sometime, but for our first visit I decided I didnt want to be visiting the city together with thousands of other people! We had good flights back (via Dallas/Fort Worth) and arrived in Cincinnati in the early evening - such a treat, after 10 days in desert type scenery, to arrive back to our verdant landscape, all bathed in glorious early evening sunshine!
