Whilst fixing a puncture on a bicycle can sometimes be a pain in the arse (the degree of pain being largely dependent upon the recalcitrance of the tyre when removing it from the rim) at least it doesn't involve having to piss about with a jack and spending several minutes wondering exactly why one of the (merely four, in this case) wheelnuts doesn't have a standard hex head like the other three and like the inverse of the cup on the wrench. Fortunately there were a pair of weird-fitting adaptor things in the glove compartment but extending the effective height of the bolt isn't particularly useful when attempting to unstick non-greased bolts which required more force to undo than balancing on one foot on the end of the lever and bouncing gently up and down could provide.

Fortunately more force was available by pulling up on the lever, though it wouldn't have been if Nicky had been out in the car somewhere remote by herself. Hopefully they'll be easier to undo next time now that they've had some nice red-coloured PTFE-containing bicycle-grease rubbed on their threads; this can be tested when sticking the proper wheel back on seeing as the spare wheel isn't a proper wheel but one of these to-the-nearest-garage-only cop-out things.
