Tridens

Intensive North Sea fishing will be a future problem. Maybe even a worldwide problem. Dutch fishing companies are extending their boundaries already to West Africa in order to escape from strict fishing quotas. The Dutch government operates a highly sophisticated fishing inspection vessel, the 'Tridens'. This vessel inspects almost everything you can think of with respect to the fishing industry. Equipped with fishing gear they can see by themselves what the effect of extensive fishing is. But not today; her propeller got fouled by her own fishing gear as you can see on this picture and she was towed into port by the Terschelling based salvage tug 'Hunter'.
