A quiet Monday
Been a bit wet today so a rather lazy morning, my wife and I popped into my mother-in-law's care home to visit her this afternoon. The picture is the main building of what used to be the home. It is now HQ for the Church of Scotland. The care home is now an annex of this building. The building was owned by the Jenners family who owned a prestigious department store on Princes Street. Jenners department store was sadly bought over recently and is not as good.
The grounds of the care home are amazing and are often used by people getting married at a nearby hotel. The railings at the entrance to the Gate Lodge are an exact copy of the Scalliger railings at Verona in Italy. These raillings may be a future Blipfoto.
