Ripe

What a beautiful day - again! Unbelievable that this weather has continued for so long and despite yesterday's cloudy day the sun once again shines out of a clear blue sky. Today there is a lovely breeze which makes it just perfect. I've just returned from a bike ride, on my own! How brave is that! I felt a bit silly without the boys but I really enjoyed it and only came home as the supply agency phoned and I didn't have my diary with me. I could have been cycling in France or Spain in mid-summer it was that warm. Apologies to all of you who are having rain or cold weather at the moment but this is our summer - in October!!!

Other news today - my dad returned to the hospital for a check-up on his eye (he had an operation about 4 weeks ago to repair a detached retina). Unfortunately the retina has become detached again and he's got to go through the op and the resting at 45 degrees all over again! I know he was looking forward to booking a holiday as soon as it was all resolved but he's taking it all in his stride and is as calm as ever about the situation!
