Picnic in the park
A rare personal blip, instead of some abstract scene or wild creature. It's a moment to cherish because time moves so swiftly. This time next year my Sal intends to be at university. Picnics in Bruntwood Park have been a bit of a Sunday tradition for us down the years. Today we sheltered under a tree as the thick clouds signaled the end of our Indian Summer, squeezing random seeming raindrops out long before it rained proper. We feasted on our favourite selections from Waitrose. I'm struggling to come to terms with my little girl now being on the threshold of a world whose twists and turns I personally still sometimes struggle to even negotiate myself. Every parent will understand this.
