Chariots of Fire ... Reprise

The weather may have been advantageous for runners today, but the spectators had a raw deal in the Mini Great Edinburgh Run.

In scenes reminiscent of Bannister's record breaking 1954 run this pair crossed the finish line and collapsed into the arms of the adoring masses.

Carried shoulder high homewards in the shadow of Eric Liddell's church it took double servings of coffee cake to revive them. Dedication or what?
