Forfar Witches
Found this headstone sitting in a stone circle beside the Loch sheltered under a hawthorn tree marking a communal witches grave.
Each of the 22 dots represents a local thought to be a witch.
In reality they were likely normal people who maybe lived life a little differently, in the wrong place at the wrong time, and whose only sin was maybe even as simple as having a squint eye.
Some of them were accused by Helen Guthrie a self confessed witch who sounds like a mad woman herself.
Made me stop and think that was for sure.
