We spent the afternoon down at Pilrig St Paul's again, for another Come-and-Sing, the fees split this time between Waverley Care and the Pilrig Chorus. The programme was quite challenging; Parry's I Was Glad, Haydn's Heavens Are Telling (from Creation) and several choruses from Handel's Messiah. Although I hardly knew some parts of the Messiah it was, as usual, a hard-working but friendly occasion.

When making our way to Pilrig we encountered queues of traffic caused by road blocks in Holyrood Park; the preparations had begun for the Bupa Great Edinburgh Run tomorrow. The live TV truck is ready, next to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Tomorrow, when the race is in progress, we shall have to take a different route to get to church.
