CONTEMPLATION AT ARNSIDE

We saw the Buff-breasted Sandpiper, and a grand little wader it was, but what was this? Ah, the Curlew Sandpiper. There was a deep and muddy dyke between me and them, and though wearing wellingtons I didn't attempt to slip and slide across to see it.
