Orchid

Rather a sad morning for us as we attended a memorial service of one of our near neighbours and fellow dog walker, Gavin. I featured one of Gavin's cars in a previous blip. 'Ducky' was his favourite among all the classic cars Gavin had for his wedding hire business which he started after retiring from teaching. He was a very kind and generous man and for the past few years had given us tomato plants which gave us a great crop.

When his son, John, told us of his death he said Gavin had left a list of things to be done which John promised to fulfil. John told me that my name was on the list and I had to be given tomato plants next summer. In the midst of all the anxiety and pain of his illness Gavin was still thinking of others.
