Murano glass fountain

Had supper with wonderful friends and this gaudy fountain was in the entrance of the restaurant. The owner told us it was bought in Italy by his grandmother in the 1950s and cost $5000 at the time. I went online and found one for sale in an antique store in NY for $21000!
Too bad it looked so out of place in that decor...
