Bugs Bunny Heaven!

Sign of colder weather to come is the straw bales stacked ready to be spread over this field of carrots.

Unlike tatties carrots don't keep as well once harvested. Once the carrots have reached the desired size they are covered in straw which stops them growing anymore and they are held safe in the ground, protected from frost, until they are needed. This means that there will be carrots harvested somewhere every day except Christmas Day to keep carrots on the shop shelves.
