Bird bath or is it?

Heard a racket from the garden and looked out to see water splashing everywhere. The blackbird was having a bath in the pond, but it was more like a shower. The amount of water in the air, looked like a very localised rain shower. If it doesn't rain soon, we may need to fill it back up.
