Day 8- Technology
I love technology. My mum is an absolute technophobe- I, on the other hand, love to play around with gadgets. I spent 6 years as a Sound Technician as part of my former life, which I loved. I love knowing how to make things work, and I loved how big my role in making the band sound good was, even though I'm hopefully non-musical.
I'm known as a Mac Geek, which I don't mind... I'm not, however, a sold out Apple Fan Girl. As you see from my photo, I use a Mac. I have Pro rather than a normal home level simply because I was spoilt with my first laptop, and I find it hard to go back. I prefer to use a Mac, which is why it takes me much longer to make things look nice on my PC at work.
I don't have- or want!- an iPhone. I like not paying for apps, and am very happy both with HTC and the Google Android OS. Nor do I want an iPad. When contemplating purchasing my Kindle, a friend advised me on Facebook to save up and buy an iPad... but I really don't want one. I have a top quality laptop, so I don't see the need for a tablet computer as well, and the whole point of the Kindle (for me) is that it's not a computer. It's an e-reader, it uses e-ink and is very comfortable to read from, unlike my phone or laptop.
The photo actually shows the Kindle app on all three devices- I love that it can remember where I am in my book and tell my other devices :)
Sorry, that was rather a long techno rant... on the plus side, this is Day 8 of the 30 Day Photo Challenge I've embarked on... only 22 to go!
