Helter-skelter

By Juli

Sweet sixteen!

On this day sixteen years ago I made my husband the happiest man in the world my husband made me the happiest girl in the world.

Although I was happy to have a small and fairly informal wedding, my husband-to-be insisted that as I wouldn't agree to be married in Las Vegas by an Elvis impersonator we would 'do it properly' here.

We would never have had such a wonderful day if it hadn't been for the help we had from several people, including my friend who painstakingly cross-stitched our place cards - and met with good grace the constant changes to the guest list! Another good friend came to the rescue to make the frames, as I never thought beforehand whether I could find any to fit. Still, all's well that ends well, as they say!

The manager of our reception venue was horrified by our ones and tried everything he could to persuade me not to put them out but I thought, in years to come, at least my husband couldn't say I didn't warn him.
