Musée d'Orsay

The Musée d'Orsay is housed in a building which was originally one of the major train stations of Paris. Given that, it doesn't look anything like you would imagine. It's incredibly beautiful inside, which makes it extremely frustrating that no photography is allowed -- absolutely none. I saw one young man trying to take a photo of his girl friend and one of the attendants was on him in a flash (no photographic pun intended).

There was another reason for frustration on this visit. Part of the impressionist collection was being moved to a different location, which meant that most of my favorite paintings were not on display. I'll have to go back again if I want to see them.
